Animation Skills - Exercise 1

Image
I chose a 3D animation from League of  Legends, made by Riot Games. It was made for the start of Season 8 and in my opinion this video is supposed to give you the motivation to start your new season's climb through the ranks. Narrative: It starts with Yasuo playing his flute calmly and quietly. The figure looks quite realistic, his fingers look very real for an animation. Suddenly he is disturbed by an arrow landing close by which is followed by many others. This signifies a start of the action and he whirls into motion using his sword to block many arrows' paths before taking a giant leap out of their path. The scene then cuts to Taliyah, the stoneweaver, trying to escape from a disaster. She is using her powers to create terrain to shield herself from harm and to continue her journey. Shortly after she avoided the explosions, the animation transcends to Ekko the boy who shattered time. He creates an alternate version of himself that bats a time grenade towards t...

Cyber Security What is Cyber Security? Cyber security is the protection of systems, networks and data from unauthorised access that could lead to financial damage, exploitations or theft. They announced via their social media that their servers were under a DDoS ( Distributed Denial of Service) attack which led games such as World of  Warcraft or Hearthstone to be unavailable to play. - Minecraft, a sandbox video game was hacked by a group called "OurMine", famous for breaching into social media accounts ...

Maya - Fidget Spinner

Image
The assignment was to make a fidget spinner. As the weather was getting quite cold and I was hoping for snow, my mind turned to snowflakes and thus my fidget spinner would be in the shape of a snowflake. After researching the crystal structure of snowflakes, I chose one which I thought looked suitable for Christmas and my fidget spinner. The initial creation of the snowflake was relatively easy and even the ball race bearing was not unduly difficult, requiring simply a couple of cylinders and some spheres arranged concentrically. A large amount of use was obviously made of duplicate special to create this snowflake. All this work, however paled into insignificance in comparison to the UV mapping which took many hours to get even remotely right. My only concert is that the ball race in the middle is a little small for the size of the snowflake, although the snowflake is of correct proportions which means the bearing has to fit inside the constrained dimensions to achieve a s...
